Although there is an E-Z Burr available for every drill size over .125" (1/8"), the tools do have a
working range of minus 0 and plus 1mm. Typically, this is rather conservative and the tools can be pushed to do holes over 1mm larger in diameter. An easy way to tell if the tool is being asked to deburr too large of a hole is look for chatter marks. If the tool begins to chatter it is advisable to invest in the appropriate tool for that diameter of hole.
Quick E-Z Burr Tour: The tool is ran similarly to a drill program. You do not need to dwell, stop or reverse the spindle. Simply feed the tool into the hole and feed it back out. Make sure that the insert/blade, HSS or Carbide, has completely cleared the rear of the hole before beginning the return stroke. Changes in chamfer size are quickly achieved, not by changing speeds or feeds, but by adjusting the insert/blade height. This is done with the tool still in the spindle via the adjusting screw.
